Abdominal X-ray (AXR)
Gas pattern: Check for bowel obstruction (dilated loops) or ileus. Free air: Look under the diaphragm for pneumoperitoneum (perforation). Calcifications: Screen for renal, ureteral, or biliary stones. Soft tissues & bones: Evaluate organ silhouettes, lower ribs, spine, and pelvis.

CXR Chest X-ray (CXR)
A – Airway: Check trachea position (midline vs. deviated) and main carina. B – Breathing / Lungs: Look for consolidation, infiltrates, pneumothorax (pleural line), or effusion (blunted costophrenic angles). C – Circulation / Cardiac: Assess cardiothoracic ratio ($< 50\%$ on PA view) and mediastinal contours. D – Diaphragm: Check contour sharpness, flat diaphragms (COPD), or subdiaphragmatic free air. E – Everything else: Inspect clavicles, ribs (fractures), soft tissue emphysema, and lines/tubes (ET tube, CVC position).
